Entering the Thermashield factory and showroom on Cumbernauld Road in Stepps is a bit like entering the Tardis. From the front it looks like a standard bungalow, and indeed that’s how it started life, but now the original property has been extended many times to include a state-of the-art factory, customer showroom and office accommodation.
Thermashield has been located in Stepps for more than 20 years. It employs around 50 people in the Stepps factory and on sites throughout Scotland and the North of England. The business is now one of the largest family-run window firms in Scotland .
Thermashield manufactures and installs quality double-glazing products such as doors, windows and conservatories. The management team at Thermashield have over twenty years experience in the business and pride themselves on the quality of their products and the satisfaction of their customers. In this industry, it speaks volumes that a large part of the company’s business comes from recommendations. Alan Wylie the Sales and Marketing Manager said: “A lot of our work comes from recommendation. This tells us that our customers are not only happy with the workmanship but have genuine confidence in the products and service we provide.”
As well as a sizable private home business, the company also works for Edinburgh City Council, East Renfrewshire Council, Inverclyde Council, North Ayrshire Council and numerous housing associations throughout the country, giving them a national presence. The company has built up such a reputation for quality that staff at the Stepps office take orders from all over the central belt as well as further flung locations such as Thurso, Wick and Newcastle. And Thermashield has the accreditation to back up their reputation. They are British Board of Agreement approved.
Thermashield produces hundreds of windows every week, ranging in style from casement, tilt-and-turn to fully reversible. There is a comprehensive door range in a variety of colours and maintenance-free roofing, fascias, guttering and eaves are also available. At the Stepps showroom, you can view a range of products and samples.
Alan said: “All of our products are manufactured by us, which means that our products are all tailored, at your request, in a style to suit your home. Thermashield’s products give unrivalled weather performance for a lifetime and require only minimal maintenance.”
None of the Thermashield products require a deposit apart from conservatories, and quotations are obligation free.
